S.Rajagopal is an accomplished Banker and has held various senior positions including that of Chairman & Managing Director of Bank of India where he managed over 45000 employees, Indian Bank and Managing Director of State Bank of Indore.

He has a brilliant academic record and holds a Master's degree in Economics and Degrees in Commerce & Law. After retirement, he is on the Boards of various companies including GMR, SREI, Zylog and Varun Industries.

He is closely associated with academics and is currently a member of the Court of Banaras Hindu University.
